How to clean the Burj? Slide 6 Slide 6 This challenge is met by using custom made Building Maintenance Unit (BMU), while pinnacle is reserved for specialized rope technicians. With 18 BMU’s inoperation, the faced will take two to three months to clean. 




The Foundation
3.7m-thick triangular frame foundation supported by rounded steel piles in 1.5m diameter and extending 50m below the ground.


High Standards
The 160-storey Burj Dubai became the world’s tallest building when it overtook the 509-metre Taipei 101 in July 2007 


Bracing for the Wind
Over 40 wind tunnel tests were conducted to examine the effects the wind would have on the tower and its occupants. Special studies were carried to determine the magnitude of changes in pressure and temperature with height. 


Getting You Up There
The Burj has 58 elevators and 8 escalators. Four purpose elevators are available. The building service’s elevator will have a capacity of 5500kg and will be the world’s tallest service elevator.
